Luxury properties showcase
KUALA LUMPUR: The inaugural Malaysia International Luxury Properties Exhibition 2008 is set to see properties from all over the world worth between RM1 million and RM50 million put up for sale.
Organising chairman Moey Sai Yee said some 60 property developers, including 24 foreign developers, are expected to showcase their properties during the expo, scheduled for March 21-23 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
“This is the first time we are showcasing properties worth more than RM1 million and we expect at least 10,000 visitors,” said Moey. “A lot of super-rich investors from all over the world, especially the Middle East, are expected to make their way to the expo to view properties up for sale in Malaysia, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
Moey said the total value of the properties to be showcased in the expo amounts to more than RM1.5 billion and comprises almost 100 development projects.
He said this is the first time only high-end and super-luxury properties will be displayed due to the rising demand for such properties.
“Middle Eastern investors are hungry to snap up luxury properties in Malaysia and we are providing a platform for them to do so,” said Moey after launching the official logo for the expo at the Impiana KLCC Hotel and Spa yesterday. It was officiated by director-general of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Mirza Mohammad Taiyab.
“Exclusive properties up for grabs include those worth more than RM20 million and located mostly in the UK and Europe,” Moey added.
